Facebook is getting tough on bullying and sexual predators
Today I found out that Facebook, the world’s second-largest social networking web site is adding more than 40 new safeguards to protect you and young users from sexual predators and cyber-bullies.
Facebook will be banning convicted sex offenders from the site, which will limit them from contacting subscribers under 18 years old.
Facebook will also be setting up a task force to find better ways to verify users ages and identites.
Most can agree that this is a step up toward social networking safety and protecting kids from online predators and inappropriate content. So far 49 states have signed on.
Many of the changes have already been enacted and others are in the works.
Facebook is getting fortified but I wish more social networks would follow suit.
Obviously there are a lot of weirdo’s out there on the internet today and you must be careful.
Facebook should also clean up some of their applications.
Example: the famous “I want to slip a finger in you” application that was sent to me from a few Facebook friends.
It might of been funny at the time but I am a Optician running an Optical shop and somehow having the”I want to slip a finger in you” application featured on my website along with the all other Social Networks I belong to does not look too professional now does it?
When running a business you have to be careful what type of image you project to the public.
Also potential employers will be watching these Social Networks to see what your personality is like and they may or may not hire you based on what they see or the image you project online.
I personally have been ask on blind dates and to be a “kept woman” so many times by online request that I lost count. Why would I even consider dating anyone I met online?
One thing I will never be is someone’s “kept woman”. Dream on punks. LMAO
